Karmic Theme 3: I am Nothing.

I do not exist.

Knowing that we matter is everything. And it isn’t easy to believe that we do, when we feel that anyone can write us off. While it may be obvious to others that to be in body is to be physically real, we know we exist when we matter to someone: we do not feel physically real unless someone sees us.

I Am Nothing is the story of abandonment. It leaves us feeling bereft and in need of someone, or likely many, to make us feel like we matter (as in we are made of matter and are real) because abandonment makes us feel that not only do we not matter, we are truly nothing. This is not a matter of neglect, it is truly an issue that makes us question, “will anyone care if I am not here?”

I Am Not Good Enough plays on either end of the social extreme. Either we have a lot of friends and different social networks to ensure there will always be a group of people who can validate our existence, or we withdraw entirely believing that we do not have the power to prove we exist to anyone.
